Nietzsche called him Superman. He may never be realised, but Nietzsche insisted that we have an obligation to strive towards such human condition. The overcoming of Man is in fact the overcoming of ONESELF. No metaphorical mask or other forms of self-deceit, right? Or as Nietzsche puts it, the mastery of one’s desires and the creative use of one’s powers. With all that said, superman’s greatest creation was himself, right? Here we see Michelangelo’s representation of God, who is garbed in an anachronistic DC Comics Superman costume. Has God accepted 20th Century Comics Culture? From the ceiling of the Sistine’s Chapel to the ink and half-tone print of daily newspapers. It’s like watching a roller coaster. Yes, Marvel’s and DC’s Superheroes have become God’s simulacrum and vice versa, right?
